Halloween pumpkins, also known as ornamental pumpkins, are primarily used for decoration.


Select:
Large but not too heavy (ones with thin skins are easier to carve)

  • Keep pumpkins stored at 50°F (10°C) with approximately 60%. humidity
  • Store in a well-ventilated area

Pie Pumpkins

As the name implies, pie pumpkins are great for baking pies! They’re also great as an ingredient in many other dishes.


Select:

  • Small but heavy for their size with a stout stem
  • Smooth skinned without cuts and bruises

  • Purees for pies, muffins, custards and soups.
  • Cooked and mashed
  • Keep pumpkins stored at 50°F (10°C) with approximately 60%. humidity
  • Store in a well-ventilated area

White Pumpkins

Also known as ghost pumpkins, white pumpkins look the same as standard pumpkins on the inside but have a white outer skin.


Select:
Firm pumpkins free of bruises or blemishes

  • Baking and roasting
  • Keep pumpkins stored at 50°F (10°C) with approximately 60%. humidity
  • Store in a well-ventilated area
