SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURE
Greenhouse Grown Goodness
Locally Harvested Year-Round
FROM GREENHOUSE TO FORK
BCfresh’s Local Greenhouse-Grown Program uses innovative techniques from the Netherlands to offer a sustainable alternative to imported produce. Using precision irrigation and climate control, BCfresh delivers high-quality, locally grown food directly to your table. This eco-conscious approach reduces environmental impact while ensuring fresh, nutrient-rich produce year-round.
SUSTAINABLY GROWN
Reduced Carbon Footprint
Through our BCfresh greenhouse-grown local program, we’ve achieved a remarkable reduction of 144 metric tons in greenhouse gas emissions annually compared to import programs—a staggering 13 times less. With less transportation needed, this reduction equates to the annual greenhouse gas emissions of 55 British Columbians!

Year-Round Local
Greenhouse-grown produce thrives in a carefully controlled environment, delivering consistent, top-quality crops with every harvest, available 365 days a year.

Greener Farming
Greenhouse farming is more sustainable, using less water and land while minimizing environmental impacts.

Greenhouse Fresh to Table
Shorter transit times preserve freshness and nutrition, ensuring peak-quality produce. Local greenhouse-grown crops retain vibrant flavour and superior taste with less travel.

Minimal Crop Management
Growing produce indoors with steam sterilization significantly decreases the need for pest control measures and minimizes herbicide usage.
