
Baked BCfresh Russets
The secret to fluffy baked potatoes is to popthem open soon after they come out of the oven. This lets the steam escape and prevents the flesh from becoming tough. The Quick Baked Method saves about 15 minutesover the Regular method.
Ingredients
- 2 or 3 BCfresh Russet Rrroaster Potatoes per person
Instructions
Quick Baked Method
- Preheat oven to 425°F
- Wash and dry potatoes, do not prick
- Using a microwave-safe plate, arrange potatoes in a circle with larger end towards centre of circle
- Microwave on high for 30 seconds per potato (Example:3 potatoes = 1.5 minutes)
- Remove from microwave and place potatoes directly onrack in middle of oven
- Place a baking sheet on the lower rack to catch anydrippings
- Bake 25 minutes or until skin feels crisp but flesh feels soft
- Serve by creating a dotted line along top from end to end with a fork; Gently squeeze the potato open by pinching the ends; CAUTION: Watch for steam
Regular Baked Method
- Preheat oven to 425°F.
- Wash and dry potatoes, do not prick.
- Place potatoes directly on rack in middle of oven.
- Place a baking sheet on the lower rack to catch any drippings.
- Bake 45 minutes or until skin feels crisp but flesh feelssoft
- Serve by creating a dotted line along top from end to end with a fork; Gently squeeze the potato open by pinching the ends; CAUTION: Watch for steam
